TERMS & CONDITIONS

If you are making this booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to make all the members aware of the terms and conditions and to practice safe sauna use.
I. SAUNA RULES & REGULATIONS
All persons using the sauna do so at their own risk. Risks include bodily injury and possibly death. If you have any reservations about using the sauna, such as medical conditions, underlying health problems (including low or high blood pressure, heart/cardiac issues), the use of prescription drugs and/or pregnancy, it is essential that you consult your GP before making a booking or using the sauna. If in any doubt, you should not use the sauna.
All persons using the open water (e.g., lake, river, stream) or plunge pool do so at their own risk. It is your own responsibility to ensure that you are able to withstand exposure to cold temperatures and are a capable swimmer in open water.
The entry space to the sauna can be used to store personal belongings during your sauna session but all visitors do so at their own risk. Mercury Sauna accepts no responsibility or liability for missing, lost or stolen possessions.
Jewelry should be removed before entering the sauna to prevent burning. Ensure your swimsuit does not contain any slimming panels or metal parts which may heat up and possibly burn skin.
Alcohol and smoking are not permitted in the sauna. Do not drink alcohol before or whilst using the sauna as this can possibly lower blood pressure causing dizziness, fainting and also dehydration.
Mercury Sauna operators reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated persons or for other reasons that may be deemed a health and safety risk. Refunds will not be offered to anyone refused admission.
At all times, a trained operator of Mercury Sauna will be nearby for any queries and support you may need with managing heat and water on the stones. If anything is wrong, please inform us immediately.
I.1. Sauna Etiquette & Recommendations
-
Do not eat just before you use the sauna or inside the sauna as you could become nauseated.
-
Avoid using creams and lotions prior to using the sauna. These can clog up your pores and prevent your skin from breathing and sweating efficiently.
-
To prevent your body from dehydration, drink plenty of water (between 2 to 4 glasses) before, during and after leaving the sauna. Please bring sufficient drinking water with you.
-
Never drink alcoholic beverages. Drinking alcohol can possibly lower blood pressure and cause dizziness and also cause dehydration.
-
Bring a clean towel to sit on inside the sauna.
-
Protect hair with a sauna hat, regardless of its length. The intense heat can dry out the hair shafts, causing hair to be brittle and possibly break off.
-
Changing. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your allotted time in order to be ready to go and make the most out of your time.
-
Enter and exit the sauna in a safe and careful manner. Move slowly and give other visitors space to move. The floor inside the sauna can become slippery.
-
Never touch the stove or open the stove door. Only sauna operators are permitted to operate the stove and will be nearby for any queries.
-
Keep access points clear to allow other visitors to exit safely and swiftly if needed.
-
Respect other sauna visitors. Check with the others before pouring water on the stones as this will produce hot steam and increase the intensity of the temperature in the sauna.
-
Follow operators’ instructions on how to gently drizzle water onto the hot stones. Use the ladle provided to ensure that your arm stays away from the stove and the hot steam that will arise. Only pour the water provided in the bucket inside the sauna on the hot stones and nothing else. This should only be done intermittently to ensure the temperature does not increase too quickly and only when all visitors are seated.
-
Leave the sauna immediately if you start to feel uncomfortable, dizzy, nauseous, or lightheaded. Take care and move slowly as you exit.
-
After leaving the sauna, take time to cool down in the cooler air or the open water (lake, river, stream). Alternate between the hot and cold to get the most out of a sauna experience. All visitors using the open water do so at their own risk.
-
It is recommended to rest in a cool place for about ten minutes after finishing your sauna session. This will give your body some time to rebalance and for your heart rate to slow down.
